Job purpose:

The UNFPA 2018-2022 country programme will contribute to the equitable enjoyment of sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights by all Sri Lankans, particularly among women and young people, and to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) agenda. Within the classification of a middle- income country UNFPA Country Office in Sri Lanka is engaged in policy advocacy & dialogue backed by evidence. 

Within this context the UNFPA SL Country Office received a grant from the Canada High Commission to increase the capacity of key government counterparts to advance Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and effectively address sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). The project specifically focused on enhancing capacities of public institutions through the creation of systems and generation of evidence to advance gender equality with an emphasis on SGBV. 

The objective of the consultancy is to conduct a participatory project evaluation which will focus on the impact of the project and how to maximize on the lessons learned. The results of the evaluation will be used to further enhance interventions on addressing gender equality and more specifically sexual and gender-based violence. The Consultant will need to take into consideration the corporate guidelines on evaluations issued by UNFPA and the UN evaluations group.
