As part of this year’s 16 Days of Activism, UNFPA Sri Lanka partnered with Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC to host an awareness session on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and workplace harassment. The session, which brought together over 85 bank officials both in person and virtually, aimed to enhance understanding and drive collective action towards preventing GBV and fostering safer work environments.
Addressing GBV is a pressing issue that requires a united approach. Through initiatives like this, UNFPA Sri Lanka is engaging with key private sector stakeholders to create a cultural shift that prioritizes safety, equity, and inclusivity. The interactive session covered critical topics such as identifying harassment, creating supportive workplace policies, and empowering individuals to be advocates for change.
UNFPA Sri Lanka recognizes that building a future free of GBV demands collective action, effective partnerships, and ongoing commitment. Together with organizations across sectors, UNFPA Sri Lanka is working to ensure a safe, equitable, and inclusive tomorrow for all.
