Type: Consultant for Provide Technical Support to Develop Duty Criteria for One Stop Center Staff
Duty Station: Colombo, Sri Lanka
Closing Date: 9 March 2024, midnight Sri Lanka time (GMT + 5:30)
Job Description and link to the application

UNFPA is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled. UNFPA’s  new strategic plan (2022-2025), focuses on three transformative results: to end preventable maternal deaths; end unmet need for family planning; and end gender-based violence and harmful practices.

Currently, UNFPA has established 3 One-Stop Centers (OSCs) in Colombo, Kilinochchi and Puttalam districts. These OSCs provide an integrated service delivery solution and
a coordinated response model for providing comprehensive care to pregnant and lactating mothers, women of reproductive age, and survivors of gender-based violence. The OSCs also contain temporary shelter facilities providing a much needed transit point for survivors as they navigate the challenging emotional, social, medical and legal circumstances. This innovative model is designed to provide SRH, MCH, psychosocial support, medico-legal and rehabilitation services for most marginalized women under one roof. The  holistic nature of the OSC acknowledges the intersectionality of the challenges faced by marginalized women, seeking to create a
supportive environment where they can access a range of vital services seamlessly.

Within this background, UNFPA is looking to hire an Individual Consultant to provide technical support to develop duty criteria for OSC staff in accordance with the developed SOPs, discuss the relevance of existing documentation for referrals, adapt and deliver specialized trainings for OSC staff on SRH, GBV, PFA and PSS and strengthen their referral mechanisms.

Scope of work:

  • Developing specific duty criteria for identified staff of OSC Kilinochchi, Colombo and Marawila in accordance with the SOPs
  • Discuss the relevance of existing documentation for referrals, meal plan, specialized referrals (JMO), Police for the new OSCs and developing new formats to cater to the current need (in respect to in-vote survivors)
  • Conduct specialized trainings based on the duty criteria developed by the Consultant for OSC staff
