MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS
In 2000, Sri Lanka joined 188 countries in signing the Millennium Declaration, which committed nations to a new global partnership to reduce extreme poverty, and set out a series of time-bound targets with a deadline for 2015. These are commonly known as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
This publication highlights some of the key achievements and progress Sri Lanka has made in reaching these MDGs.
