In a landmark initiative, UNFPA Sri Lanka has formalized a partnership with MAS Holdings, one of Sri Lanka’s leading apparel manufacturers, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the health, well-being, and safety of women in the apparel sector.

This collaboration represents a significant step forward in addressing critical issues such as Gender-Based Violence (GBV) while promoting the overall well-being and empowerment of women in the industry. By working together, UNFPA and MAS Holdings aim to create safer, more inclusive workplaces that prioritize the dignity and safety of all employees.

The initiative will include targeted interventions, awareness programs, and capacity-building efforts aimed at fostering a culture of respect and equity. This partnership underscores the vital role of the private sector in driving sustainable change and ensuring that no one is left behind.

Together, UNFPA Sri Lanka and MAS Holdings are setting a benchmark for collaborative action to empower women and promote safer, healthier workplaces across Sri Lanka.
