UNFPA Sri Lanka organized a collaborative working session with relevant stakeholders, to address the concerns and improve accessibility of the sign language glossary for SRH terminology. The aim is to identify effective strategies for revising and updating the sign language glossary, ultimately ensuring that SRH services are accessible to all individuals, regardless of their abilities.

In response to this critical issue, UNFPA, in partnership with Y PEER Sri Lanka, developed a sign language glossary for SRH terminology in 2015. However, stakeholders, including persons with disabilities and interpreters, have highlighted the need for a comprehensive revision of the glossary. This includes adding new terms, providing detailed explanations for each term, and potentially creating instructional videos demonstrating accurate sign usage.
