UNFPA Sri Lanka hosted a consultation with the Police Women and Children's Desks to strengthen their capacity to respond to gender-based violence. Ministry of Public Security and Sri Lanka Police joined the consultation. Objective of the consultation is to enhance and promote access to police services and provide a temporary safety for women and girls seeking redress within the women and children’s desks at the selected police stations.

Also the project activities are contributed to strengthen health and protection systems and to support institutionalization of multi-sectoral response for gender-based violence at district and divisional levels.
