As part of the Youth-led Promotion of Social Cohesion project, UNFPA Sri Lanka, with support from the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka and in collaboration with Alliance Development Trust and GAFSO, organized an interfaith site visit for 60 youth participants from Batticaloa and Trincomalee.
Focusing on themes of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender, and Climate Action, the visit gave many young people the opportunity to step beyond their own faith traditions—some for the very first time—to explore places of worship and deepen their understanding of diverse cultural and religious practices. This experience fostered dialogue, respect, and unity among youth from different backgrounds, contributing to stronger social cohesion in the region.
