USAID Mission Director Gabriel Grau and UNFPA Sri Lanka Representative Kunle Adeniyi visited the Women In Need (WIN) Skills Center located in Polhena, Matara to have a discussion with the members of the Domestic Violence Support Group and the Women's Watch Group. The Center is also the home of WIN FOR HER in the South, an initiative that focuses on creating economic opportunities for sexual and gender-based violence survivors.
The meeting included a discussion with the Women In Need staff, an interaction with the Domestic Violence Support Group and a walk through of the proposed site for a model safe city in Matara. WIN staff provided an overview of the safe city concept and how it will be implemented.
