In collaboration with UNV, UNFPA conducted a 2-day youth forum in selected communities to engage over 100 youth to participate. The National Youth Services Council, Small Enterprises Development Division and National Youth Corps were facilitators of these forums along with sessions on sexual and reproductive health. As a part of our sustainable development goals urban gardening project, UNFPA and UNV conducted a 2-day youth forums in 3 selected communities to engage 100 youth participants each day. The National Youth Services Council, Small Enterprises Development Division and National Youth Corps facilitated these forums along with sexual and reproductive health sessions by UNFPA.
The Youth Forum provided young people with the opportunity to vocalise their needs, increase opportunities to identify ways to improve educational achievement, receive career guidance, develop positive values and a healthy lifestyle.
The Youth Forum strengthened young people's sense of identity, self-regulation, self-efficacy along with their social and behavioural competence, increased their social and emotional well-being, built a sense of purpose and contribution and increased social networks and social support, including referrals to health and other facilities.
