Unprecedented socio-economic crisis in Sri Lanka which has resulted in a spike in the cost of living, scarcity of food, medicine, fuel shortages and power has unequally affected the women, girls and other marginalized groups.

UNFPA partnered with Save the Children International (SCI) to launch a Cash Voucher Assistance project to help women, girls and communities with the rising cost of living. The cash assistance provides access to life saving sexual and reproductive health services and increase the capacity of service providers for sexual and gender-based violence prevention and response.

Within this response, UNFPA provides cash assistance across nine of the most vulnerable districts which include Rathnapura, Puttalam, Kandy, Galle, Mullaitivu, Monaragala, Anuradhapura, Gampaha and Batticaloa.
