The 'Happy Family' series by the Health Promotion Bureau (HPB) of the Ministry of Health, supported by UNFPA Sri Lanka was launched on Friday (7th June) at an event held in Colombo. The event was attended by key officials of the Ministry of Health, Health Promotion Bureau, Midwives, Public Health Inspectors, and Nurses among others. 

UNFPA Sri Lanka provided financial assistance and technical expertise for the 'Happy Family' series which was launched with the aim to promote healthy lifestyles, maternal care, and highlight the vital role of men in family happiness and fostering unity. 

The nine-part video series, delves deep into various aspects of maternal and family health, with the aim of educating and supporting expectant mothers and families. 

Topics covered in this series include the importance of engaging men in family planning to achieve mutual happiness, creating a supportive and loving environment through effective communication and shared responsibilities, and the crucial role of paternal affection in a child's emotional resilience and overall development.

It also sheds light on free services available for expectant mothers to maintain a healthy lifestyle and mental well-being during pregnancy for a safe childbirth.
